Col de Dame Roja is a Spanish relative of the French Col de Dames. It gets its name ’roja’ from the beautiful greenish red or coppery color its skin displays. CDD Roja has the signature long lady’s neck of the CDD varieties. The large, pear shaped fruitis known for its heft, and can even weigh up to 80 grams. CDD Roja’s leaves are unique in that single, triple, and five-lobed leaves can appear on the same plant, but that can also change over time with younger plants usually bearing fewer lobes. Roja is a late blooming fig, even amongst the CDD varieties.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
