Crozes FDM Fig

Crozes FDM is a French fig. It is labeled FDM because it comes from the collection of Thierry of Figues du Monde. It is a Mt. Etna type and common type not requiring wasp pollination. There are many reasons to choose Crozes FDM: it is early ripening and fast growing; the trees fruit heavily and ripen in bunches; it’s a cold hardy variety; and it produces a breba and a main crop.

The red pulp has a berry flavor with light fruitiness. Crozes FDM figs have good attachment and can dry on the tree. That’s when they get their unique gummy bear texture that fig enthusiasts have loved! Some have described the dried fig flavor as sweet candy grape.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
