Graz - Der Grossen Feige Fig

With a name that translates to “the big fig” there is no doubt that Der Grossen Feige will produce large and long fruits. This fig goes by the name of Graz - Der Grossen Feige (BC#102). To decode that name a bit, “Graz” comes from the city in Austria that this fig originally called home. “Der Grossen Feige,” translates from German as “the big fig,” which references this fig’s long shape and heavy weight. “BC#102” is the numbering system used at the famous Belleclare Nursery in Long Island, NY where this fig was sold in the US. The now-closed nursery assigned numbers to each of its world-class figs to more accurately keep track of the varieties. Varieties from Belleclare Nursery are still prized today!

Der Grossen figs grow to a large size and contain amber colored pulp. The figs are sweet and smooth with a honey flavor.

When do we ship cuttings?

Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December):

We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.

**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees.

Rooted Cuttings(Spring):

We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span. Please do not ask for ETA's or specific arrival dates. You will receive an email when your order ships with UPS Ground tracking details.
