Primitive Rice Measurer : Small

Sourced from the storied rice paddies of China, these vintage wooden rice containers once carried the weight of harvests from fields to village kitchens. Each piece is utterly unique, bearing its own marks of time—some with hand-forged metal patches or rustic stitching added to reinforce joints through years of daily use. Expect beautiful variations in size, color, and patina, making every container a one-of-a-kind piece of history. Some have dividers and some don't. This is the smaller of the two rice measurers that we carry. 

Every vintage piece we source carries a story. The little dings, worn edges, markings, and subtle imperfections are the marks of a life well-lived—adding character, not taking away from beauty. No two are ever alike, and that’s exactly what makes them special. We’ll never sell anything structurally compromised, but a chip, crack, scratch, marking, or variation is part of the history we celebrate here at Hello Norden.
