Siyah Orak Fig

Most fig enthusiasts love Siyah Orak for its early ripening that allows growers to sample their prized figs sooner. Siyah Orak is a bifera variety, meaning that it produces two crops annually: a breba and a main crop. The breba crop will consist of smaller figs that ripen from late June-early July. You will see larger figs in the main crop, available from August-September, depending on climate. Siyak Orak trees bear 3-5 lobed leaves.

When do we ship cuttings?

We begin shipping cuttings once the trees are dormant and in storage. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in early December. We continue to ship throughout the winter and early spring until the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. Your cuttings will be cut to order to ensure freshness and provide the greatest chance of rooting success. Cuttings will be a minimum length of 8”, with at least 3 nodes, and will be thicker than a #2 pencil (many are sharpie thickness or greater). Our mother trees are stored in a climate-controlled environment to keep the trees dormant and healthy through the winter and early spring, and the cuttings are guaranteed to arrive in perfect, ready to root, condition.

Our rooted cutting season begins around the end of March. When viewing our figs, it will state next to the price what is offered(cutting vs rooted cutting).

Shipping Multiple Rooted Cuttings?

$16.99 is our flat rate charge for 1 rooted cutting. For orders with additional cuttings, a $5 per cutting charge will be applied.
